Freelance translator from Italian to English
I am an experienced Italian to English translator with a post-graduate Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, of which I am full member. I am also registered with the Brescia Camera di Commercio in their register of experts as a translator and interpreter.
Translation agencies
Over the past nine years, I have worked in a freelance capacity for eighteen translation agencies based in Italy, UK, US, Germany and Switzerland, translating millions of words (over a million purely for one Milan-based agency) specialising in editorial (articles for design and architectural magazines) and information technology (software manuals, software strings for GUI, e-learning systems, online help guides and other technical documentation). I use the popular CAT tools SDL Trados Freelance Suite and SDLX, and SDL Multiterm for terminology management.
Italian property law – services for notaries, lawyers, estate agents
Work for Italian notaries, lawyers and estate agents is exclusively in the area of Italian property law, providing translations (also sworn) of deeds of purchase, powers of attorney, mortgage deeds, and providing interpreting services when signing said documents at the completion of property purchases. Work with estate agents includes translation of preliminary contracts of sale, purchase offers, technical specifications for new builds and off-plan property, and engineer surveys.
Private clients
Work for private clients is again concentrated in the area of Italian property, in conjunction with our local consulting service for the Lake Garda area. We provide interpreting at property viewings with estate agents, translation of surveys, preliminary contracts, and organisation of bilingual contracts at completion, with appropriate interpreting services and sworn translations. Interpreting services are limited to the Lake Garda area, whereas written translations can be provided anywhere in Italy or, indeed, the world.
